I’m now a Certified Practising Marketer

Rhonda Chapman CPM

In addition to my university qualifications, I’m now adding Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) to my list. I’m one of the few sole traders in WA, and possible one of a handful of copywriters in Australia, to become a certified marketer.

It’s a lot like being part of an elite group!

I’m super excited to share this news with you because the CPM qualification is issued by the Australian Marketing Institute, Australia’s leading professional marketing association.

CPM is the peak professional benchmark for Australian marketers

When you’re awarded this qualification, it shows that:

“you are a professional marketer recognised by your peers for your extensive experience and formal qualifications. It also means that you have made a commitment to ongoing professional development to maintain your competitive advantage.

Unlike tertiary qualifications, CPM is recognition of both formal education and successful application of your marketing knowledge and skills.”

It’s a competitive digital world.

You need an experienced qualified marketer who is in the know

You need someone who has good marketing knowledge and a strong understanding of consumer behaviour.

Someone who can help you stand out with confidence, and who knows how to implement and manage marketing campaigns for small business.

As a copywriter who is also a certified marketer, I help you plan the direction of your marketing activities for your campaigns to promote your products, services or brand.

I use my creativity and expertise to think of new ways of delivering your message to the customer.

I’m one of those old-ish dogs who loves to learn new tricks. And because I’m passionate about what I do, I’m committed to keeping my skills and knowledge up to date throughout my career.

A unique mix of journalism, public relations and marketing

I have a Bachelor of Communications in Media Studies, a Certificate in Public Relations and Events Management, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce (Marketing). I’ve also worked in all three fields, and was awarded for Excellence in Television Production for my creative work as a television producer, documentary maker and journalist.

My goal has always been to mix journalism with marketing and public relations because they all go hand in hand when you want to promote your business. The courses were designed for professionals who want to help their clients or employers to determine the best strategies for their business goals and budgets.

As such, I’m able to help you write public relation materials to seek free publicity for you, write your website, brochure and email copy, as well as prepare your marketing or public relations campaign from start to finish.

Additionally, as a member of the Australian Marketing Institute, I help to plan the annual programs for Emerging Marketers (WA) (those who have less than five years’ experience in the field). In 2017, I plan to become a mentor to one of them.

I’m consistently attending networking events through various business networks and professional bodies. My goal is to not only develop my expertise and my network, but to also make a real difference so I can grow my business, your business and my career.
